You mean other than my own rampant insecurities? Haha, no really.
Ah, actually, I made Girlbot up almost on the spot for a drawing assignment when I was in college at MCAD. I did a triptych of her processing beauty mags, picking flowers, and measuring her waistline, and those three images — the originals having been accidentally thrown away years ago — formed the jumping off point for the comic I decided to make out of it years later.
Girlbot is cobbled together out of my own neuroses and my favorite sci-fi and humor influences. Not very high-concept.
